Preparation
- Launch EZ Flash 3.
- Select the storage source (USB or internet).
- Choose the BIOS file (.CAP/.ROM depending on model).
- Confirm and start flash; do not power off or reset during the process.
- System will reboot and may perform automatic settings initialization; enter BIOS afterward to confirm settings and reapply custom settings or load optimized defaults.
Troubleshooting FAQ
Q: EZ Flash 3 says "Selected file is not a proper BIOS image."
Note: This is not a standard daily update method, but it is the top life-saving technique every ASUS owner should know.
- Critical Rule: Download the latest non-Beta BIOS unless you specifically need a beta feature.
- File Format: The file will be a
.CAPor.ROMfile (modern ASUS boards use.CAP).
The update progress bar will appear. Do not touch anything and do not turn off your computer during this time. The system will automatically reboot once finished.
