- Corrupted Link – Silent but violent. Refuses to speak to the Owl, attacks Marin in Link’s Awakening, and uses glitches to bypass moral choices.
- The Toadstool Journal – A fictional in-game item (creepypasta invention) that records “sins” – killing cuccos, breaking pots in temples, etc.
- Ganon’s Laugh – In the saga, when Bad Brother corrupts a save, Ganon’s laugh plays at unexpected times, even in areas where Ganon doesn’t appear.

Core premise:
A player discovers a used copy of a Zelda game (typically Link’s Awakening DX or A Link to the Past). The previous owner — known only as “Bad Brother” — has played through the game in twisted ways: killing NPCs, breaking scripted events, and leaving behind cryptic notes.
