Bfdi Faces — Assets

This report covers BFDI (Battle for Dream Island) face assets, which are the standard expressive components used in the popular object show genre. These assets typically consist of various eye, eyebrow, and mouth combinations that can be applied to any object character. Asset Composition

  • Scalability: You can stretch a BFDI eye to be as big as the sun or as small as an ant, and it will never lose quality or become pixelated.
  • Symbols: In Flash/Animate, a face is a "Symbol." Inside that symbol, the animators place keyframes. For example, inside the "Eye" symbol, keyframe 1 might be open, and keyframe 2 might be closed. This allows for easy blinking animations without redrawing the eye every time.
  • Standard Eyes: White ovals with small black pupils. These are the default for most characters.
  • Dotted Eyes: Small black dots. These usually signify a "dumber" or more oblivious character (like Rocky or Dave), or simply a stylistic choice for smaller characters.
  • Line Eyes: Vertical or horizontal lines used for specific emotions like exhaustion, exasperation, or anger.
  • Limbs: While not part of the face, the stick limbs (black lines with unequal oval feet) accompany the faces to complete the look.

2. The Technical Evolution: Flash to Animate

Understanding the assets requires understanding the software used to create them: Adobe Animate (formerly Macromedia/Adobe Flash). bfdi faces assets
