Crows Zero 2 Qartulad

Crows Zero 2: A Guide for Georgian Fans (Qartulad)

"Crows Zero 2" is widely considered one of the best Japanese action films of the last two decades. As a sequel to the 2007 hit Crows: Episode 0, it continues the story of Suzuran All-Boys High School, a notorious institution known not for academics, but for the constant violence and power struggles between its students.

The Voice Actors (Unknown Heroes)

Most "qartulad" versions are done by amateur voice actors recording over the original audio in makeshift home studios. There is a raw, unpolished quality to these dubs. Occasionally, you hear a dog bark in the background of the voice actor's recording. Other times, the translator adds a Georgian curse word ("Ra g**t!") that is far more vulgar than anything in the original script. These imperfections became beloved features. For Georgian fans, the flawed dub feels more authentic than a professional one—it feels like a friend translating the movie for you on a couch. crows zero 2 qartulad

The Translation Challenges

Translating Crows Zero 2 from Japanese to Georgian is no small feat. Japanese honorifics (-san, -kun, -sempai) have no direct equivalent in Georgian, but Georgian does have complex familial and respectful address forms. The fan translators cleverly converted the rigid hierarchy of Suzuran into a Georgian street hierarchy. Rindaman is not just "Rinda-san"; he becomes a Bichi (ბიჭი - a heavy, respected man). The shouting of school names during fights ("Suzuran!" "Hosen!") was replaced with guttural, aggressive Georgian pronunciations that gave the battles a local soccer-ultras feel.
