1. Immediate Replacement: Decommission any hardware running Ergo R0516 firmware. Replace the unit with a modern, actively supported router/firewall that supports current security protocols (WPA3, HTTPS management, regular patch cycles).
2. Network Segmentation: If immediate replacement is impossible, isolate the device in a separate VLAN with strict firewall rules preventing access from untrusted networks (specifically the Internet). Disable remote management (WAN-side administration) immediately.
3. Disable Unused Services: Turn off SNMP, Telnet, and TFTP services if they are not strictly required for operation. Force management to occur only from the LAN side.
