• The Switch: Young Harry (first two films) was voiced by a child actress, Yuuki Hayashi, to capture innocence. From Prisoner of Azkaban onward, the role went to Kenji Akabane.
• The Feel: Known for his youthful, energetic tone (he voices Tobio Kageyama in Haikyuu!!), Akabane’s Harry is slightly more hot-blooded and emotional than Radcliffe’s. His shouting of "Expelliarmus!" feels like a battle cry from a shonen anime.

• Philosopher’s Stone (2001): The dub is "anime-lite." High-pitched voices, exaggerated reactions, very warm.
• Prisoner of Azkaban (2004): Kenji Akabane takes over as Harry. The tone darkens. The ambient sound mixing is lowered slightly to let the seiyuu's breath control shine.

• Deathly Hallows (2010-2011): The dub reaches operatic levels. The final confrontation between Akio Otsuka (Snape) and Kenji Akabane (Harry) is widely considered superior to the English version by many Japanese critics, as Otsuka’s emotional break brings audiences to tears.
