Why no custom ROMs?
- Huawei’s Kirin chipset (Kirin 659) – Unlike Qualcomm devices, Kirin SoCs have poor open-source support (no full kernel sources, no Treble-friendly implementation in many cases).
- Bootloader lock – Huawei stopped providing unlock codes around 2018. Without an unlocked bootloader, you can’t flash custom ROMs.
- Low development interest – Tablets generally have smaller dev communities than phones; this model never gained traction on XDA.
