Programming Software Overview

1. Official Programming Software

The Zastone D9000 uses CHIRP (officially supported) or the factory Zastone D9000 CPS.

  • The cable uses a genuine Prolific PL2303 or Silicon Labs CP210x chip. (Avoid counterfeit Prolific chips, as modern Windows drivers will reject them.)
  • After connecting, install the correct driver. The software typically communicates via a virtual COM port (e.g., COM3).

To program the D9000 via a computer, you need two specific items:

  • Channel No: The memory slot (1-xxx).
  • Rx Freq: Receive Frequency (e.g., 146.520).
  • Tx Freq: Transmit Frequency. If using a repeater, you can set this manually or use the Offset function.
  • CTCSS/DCS: Tone squelch settings (often called Privacy Codes).
  • Power: High (H) or Low (L).
  • Bandwidth: Wide (W) or Narrow (N).

: Some users found it impossible to program specific bands (like airband frequencies) through the software even when they were accessible directly on the radio. Compatibility Issues
