- The Nightmare Team: Galvantula (Sticky Web/Thunder), Magnezone (Sturdy/Thunder Wave), Lanturn (Water Absorb/Ice Beam), Eelektross (Flamethrower/Acid Spray), Electivire (Cross Chop/Ice Punch), Mega Ampharos (Dragon Pulse/Thunder).
- Strategy: Ground types are mandatory. Garchomp (Gible on Route 13) destroys this gym. Excadrill (Drilbur in Glittering Cave) with Sand Rush + Sandstorm from a Hippopotas is a guaranteed sweep. Remove Sticky Web before sending your fast sweepers.
- Reward: TM73 (Thunder Wave) and TM24 (Thunderbolt).
